Helena O'Dowd, class of 1988

Next up in our #MeetTheCommittee is Helena O'Dowd.

Since joining the PPU over 15 years ago Helena has been a very active member of the committee bringing it through considerable change. Most recently she held the role of President from 2015 to 2020.

What have been your highlights volunteering on the Muckross PPU?
‘’Connecting back with Muckross, the school, the convent but especially the Nuns. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet so many past pupils at the hugely successful annual lunch and growing the reach of the Union through our online communications. It’s now time for me to take a step down from the PPU and handover to a wonderful group of women. The future of the Union is in good hands, securing its future and continued growth. Now that I have more time, I plan to play lots of golf in my local Grange Golf Club.’’
