Róisín Kearney, class of 1992

What do you miss the most about Muckross life?
''The laughter, the fun. Sitting in the back field in the sunshine chatting about the world, our hopes and dreams. I loved how overwhelming your emotions are when in your teens. You feel everything so passionately.''

What's your favourite Muckross memory?
''When I was in second year I had Sharon Murphy as my English teacher, we were doing improvisations in class and I played a seven year old child speaking from heaven. She rang my Mum that night and told her to send me to drama, which she did. It is the reason I had the confidence to go on and pursue a career working in the arts.
Also, I always enjoyed being sent to St. Barnabas, I know it was supposedly to be reprimanded but I loved those little chats.''

What are you up to now?
''I was at home full time with three children and ventured back into the film industry about four years ago. I first produced two short films with a friend and then went on to make The Family Way in 2017 and toured it to festivals around the world. I would love to develop it on into a series if the opportunity arose. I have made a number of other short films and my latest Paddy is currently in post-production. I’m writing at the moment, again a female led comedy.''

Advice to your 18 year old self:
'' Don’t underestimate yourself. Be scared but do it anyway. Ask! Whatever it is you want or need, ask - the worst that can happen is someone says no.''
