Ella Higgins, class of 2014

Next up in our #HumansOfMuckross we have..

Ella Higgins - class of 2014

'' I think every experience I had in Muckross shaped me into the person I am today ''

‘’ I’d go back to Muckross in a heartbeat. I really miss everything - all the sports (especially hockey), the teachers, school masses, but mainly all the girls.

I definitely took for granted how easy it was to see all your friends almost every day. Now everyone’s off doing their own thing it’s much harder to catch up. I miss the early morning chats at lockers and the messing at lunch time. It's strange now seeing the green uniforms on the bus and they have no idea that just a few years ago that used to be me ''

'' I have such fond, funny school memories; a time of just being weird and having fun with my friends. One day I lost my locker key so the lock needed to get chopped off - naturally, we decided to carry our a burial for my padlock (which is probably still buried in the grounds beside the tennis courts!) ''

'' Another time I remember coming in 45 mins before school started to meet a few of the girls. We set up a timer camera outside and repeatedly attempted to take a picture of us nailing the perfect High School Musical jump. My friends and I went so far as to post a dance number on Facebook. Safe to say we never lived that one down! ''

'' I remember all of us singing the Magnificat for the last time on our graduation day - having goosebumps and being heartbroken that the 6 wonderful years had so suddenly come to an end ''

'' Don’t worry so much about what everyone thinks about you, don’t be afraid to try new things + put yourself out there ''

'' I enjoy videography + collecting footage on my drone 🛸

I also do boxing for fitness 🥊 + play touch rugby.

I’m currently working as a nurse on the National Liver transplant unit in St. Vincents Hospital and have just finished specialising in Hepatology in UCD. I will be finishing up work as a nurse in the next few weeks to try out a totally different career ''

'' I'm part of a new Start Up called Squid Rewards.
