Next addition to our #HumansOfMuckross is

Aimée Williams - class of 1999

What do you miss the most about Muckross?

" I am lucky that I still see my Muckross pals which is truly the best thing about Muckross. However the freedom and innocence of school days are missed at times! "

" I have some wonderful memories of Muckross, from the 1st year antics in the lodge, to York school tours, Belfast exchanges, class “wars” with the 5th years, school yearbook development, 6th year plays, Madame McCarthy's verb chanting & exam places, and of course all the hockey highs and lows! Being part of the team to win the Senior Cup in 1997 was very special, as was getting to regional finals in the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme, both of which landed me on the front page of The Irish Times! But also both activities have hugely influenced my life, given I now work in business and I still, now and then, get out on the hockey pitch "

What are you up to now?

" I am based in Dublin but travel regularly as I work with some of the worlds leading and most innovative companies attracting them to Ireland and supporting them in their international growth as part of my role in IDA Ireland. At the moment most of my focus is the US East Coast but through work I have had the opportunity to get to over 15 US States, travel across Europe, live in Paris for 3 years and meet some wonderful people along the way. It's worth noting that 2 fellow Muckross past pupils are wonderful colleagues of mine in IDA – Victoria MacKechnie and Katie Thurston! " ✨

Advice for your 18 year old self:

" Never stop being curious and be more adventurous! I am pretty glad that back in our day fake tan wasn’t really a thing but I would tell 18 years olds today to not wear it or at least not so much of it! "

Fun fact:

" I have appeared on the NYSE Times Square and played (badly) soccer in Benfica stadium with former international footballers – thank you tech conferences!! Also my mum, aunt, cousins and godmother are all Muckross alum too 💚 "

Thanks Aimée - you get to nominate another past pupil(s) to feature. Please tag them below or send us a message with names and we'll reach out to them!

Do you also remember the hockey high and lows? Or the yearbook? What year did you graduate? Celebrating big reunions this year? 💚✨
